How to Install Patio Stones?
Using patio stones to create a lovely looking patio or outdoor living space is not only creative but also inexpensive. With different kinds of patio stones, your outdoor space can be a great area to relax; commune with nature and a place where you and your family can have fun.
Now, installing patio stones need not be expensive. You may either choose from a contractor to do the job for you or you can do this as a weekend DIY project. If you decide to install patio stones on your own, here is a step by step way to do it:
1. Decide which part of your garden, backyard or lawn you will install the patio stones. Measure the area.
2. Purchase the patio stones that you wish to use for your project in a hardware center or a landscaping center. Provide your measurements to the sales representative to be sure that you have enough for the entire project. Aside from the patio stones that you will need, you can also purchase other materials for the project like tools, sand and many more. You can also get personalized tips for your project as well.
3. At home, level the area that you intend to decorate. With a shovel, remove excess soil, stones and dirt. With a tool called a tamper, you can pack the soil down so it will level and not cause the stones to move when installed. Use a level to check when the entire space is ready for the patio stones.
4. Place sand over the entire area to be used. Make sure that you consider the height of the patio stones so it won’t stick out when installed.
5. Finally, place the stones in an irregular pattern starting from the middle of the area. Work your way to the edge of the area while placing the stones as close to each other as possible.
6. Clean the area by sweeping excess sand with the use of a broom.
7. When the setting is complete, add tropical flowers and plants on the side or how about a water fountain to create a natural and relaxing atmosphere.
